It’s Official – ArmorVox Powers the World’s Largest and Most Successful Government Services System

On 26th March, New Zealand’s Revenue Minister, Todd McClay, announced IRD’s ArmorVox powered Voice ID service had cracked 1 million customers giving New Zealand “the highest level of voice biometric enrolments per capita in the world” – http://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/ird%E2%80%99s-voice-id-cracks-1-million-customers

Voice ID allows customers to automatically check the balance of their Inland Revenue accounts, receive child support information, track their tax refund, retrieve their IRD number, activate their online services account and reset passwords, even if they call outside opening hours.  The Minister explains that the service is not only more secure and easier to use than traditional PINs, passwords and knowledge questions; but saves the taxpayers a staggering 8,500 hours of phone time each year.  In fact, around 60-70 per cent of people who call IRD on any given day are automatically verified using Voice ID.

“With a total population of around 4.5 million, 1 million enrolments is around 40% of the adult population of New Zealand.  In terms of “enrolments per capita” – this puts New Zealand orders of magnitude ahead of any other country in the world.”
