Based in Sydney, Habib is the Research and Development Manager at Auraya Systems. With an Honours first degree from the University of Manchester and a PhD from Imperial College, Habib Talhami has had extensive experience in research and development in digital signal processing and speech recognition.
He has worked in a number of prestigious educational and research institutions which include, among others Imperial College, the University of Sussex, the University of Nijmegen in Holland, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organization in Australia. Habib led the research group at Syrinx Speech Systems in Sydney and was responsible for developing their large-vocabulary speech recognizer.
Before joining Nuance in February, 2007, he headed the Informatics Institute at the British University in Dubai, where he taught and researched speech recognition and computational linguistics.
